Hike-a-Thon to Preserve Twin Canyon Camp

Girl Scouts, families, and members of the public a...Girl Scouts, families, and members of the public aged 12 to adult are invited to join us October 5th for a hike to preserve Twin Canyon (TC). TC is a place where girls and leaders learn outdoor skills (cooking, archery, and so much more) that lead them on to new adventures and build lifelong memories. In 2012 volunteers on the TC Site Committee worked closely with GSNorCal staff and Diablo Day Camp (DDC) to develop a long-term plan to make TC self-supporting and sustainable for generations to come. DDC was able to raise fees and extend their season to serve even more girls, and the camper's fees helped put TC back on track. But we need your help and participation to keep it a great campsite for the future for all Girl Scouts. Join us to hike the 1.5-2 hour "Junior" to Lafayette Ridge Trail, a rare opportunity to hike both TC and East Bay Regional Park trails. Brunch is served at the end of the hike.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the Twin Canyon Work Group Fund. |
